What is a beanie?

Seriously.. I have been asked. Some people thought beanie referred to the pop-culture craze "beanie babies". Not so in this case.

A cap that fits the head closely, usually knitted from wool. (Reference: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/beanie)
